Solo per mandare un saluto a tutti coloro che hanno già visto o vedranno in questo tour i Genesis.
Io parto martedì mattina.
Sono curioso di andare a vedere i Genesis in un ambiente che non conosco, di valutare la passione del pubblico polacco nei confronti di vecchi e "nuovi" brani.
sono anche curioso di vedere se a Katowice (dove un biglietto del prato costa 29 euro e che è collegata per esempio anche all' inghilterra con varie compagnie aeree low cost) ci saranno tanti spettatori dall' estero come me.
Se vi va vi relazionerò al mio ritorno (sabato)

Infatti i Genesis sono passati giusto giusto da lì il 31 gennaio 1998...forse volevano rivedere il posto senza la neve....

Non vorrei fare il saccentone ma i mitici Maiden, allievi dei nostri eroi a detta di Steve Harris, già ci andarono nel lontano 1984 ai tempi del World Slavery Tour...a quei tempi c'era ancora la corteccia di ferro (Squallor docet)!
Detto questo buon concerto e dacci un resoconto esaustivo e appassionante al tuo ritorno! Magari decideranno di variare scaletta proprio in questo concerto e magari decideranno di farmi One for the vine....magari. Beh, scusate se sogno, ma è l'ora! Buonanotte a tutti!

Avete ragione, avrei dovuto metterla tra virgolette dato che era una cotazione, neanche molto dotta, di una vecchia e semisconosciuta canzone degli Squallor di cui non ricordo il titolo, forse "Piacere pesce" ma se mi sbaglio corigetemi pure!!![:-D][:-D][:-D][:-D][:-D][:-D][:-D][:-D]
Per non andare off topic però, causando l'ira funesta dei profughi afghani che dal confine si spostarono nell'Iran, ma soprattutto dei moderatori, devo dire qualcosa sul concerto di Katowice: e se magari Peter facesse una apparizione proprio in quel concerto? No, eh? Ok, buona giornata a tutti!

Se hai letto "La Tregua" di Primo Levi, Katowice ti darà anche altre forti emozioni, credo...
Levi, dopo essere sopravvissuto ad Auschwitz e liberato nel 1945, vive per qualche mese a Katowice, in un campo sovietico di transito dove incontra incredibili personaggi da tutta Europa che respirano la libertà insperata.

Io ho letto da poco questo stupendo libro e sapere che i nostri GENESIS col loro palco astronave suonano proprio lì, dove nel 45 i resti umani dell'Europa distrutta dalla guerra e dall'olocausto venivano concentrati in una landa brulla e fredda prima del viaggio verso casa, mi ha fatto davvero riflettere su quanto velocemente sia cambiato il nostro mondo....

Chissà se Phil e compagni ci penseranno quella sera....

(scusate la divagazione storica ma quando ho letto Katowice non ho resistito all'emozione)

tornato dal giro in Polonia le impressioni sono:
la sfiga mi sta accompagnando con sospetta determinazione: 30 anni di concerti mai vista la pioggia, 11 giugno Who a Verona e 21 Genesis a Katowice due inondazioni. Qualcuno vuole il mio biglietto per i Police?
Pubblico polacco discretamente coinvolto soprattutto quello nel campo e ovviamente più portato a rioconoscere con familiarità la produzione collinsiana.
una cosa carina: in macchina al ritorno la radio polacca trasmetteva un programma sul concerto che alternava telefonate di ascoltatori a brani dei genesis.
naturalmente io non capivo nulla ma lo riporto per sottolineare l' attenzione prestata a questo evento.
ultima cosa: l' unico vantaggio dell' uragano: era già buio alle 20,30 e lo spettacolo si è visto meglio grazie alla notturna anticipata.

Hello everybody, this is Daryl Stuermer from Hanover , Germany . Since the last Audio Notes from the Road we've played Bern , Switzerland ; Linz , Austria ; Prague , Czech Republic ; and Katowice , Poland .

I'm going to mainly talk about Katowice , because I think it's the most memorable show that we've played so far. We've had good shows in Bern , Lindz, and Prague , but the difference was this was a show that was almost cancelled prior to even getting on stage.

The rain and the storm were so strong – the lightening – that it was almost dangerous to even play the show. But we went on anyway, and I have to say that within the first two or three songs, I thought that we weren't going to be able to do it because the rain was just coming onto the stage. It was covering all the pedal boards that we have onstage and the keyboards. In fact, in our second song, “Turn it on Again” Tony Banks' keyboards went completely out, probably two thirds into the song, so we had to finish the song without him, so it was sort of a trio of guitar, bass, and drums actually holding it down.

Can you imagine actually playing a song like that without Tony Banks? Almost any Genesis song without Tony Banks is impossible. But we kept going and finished the song.

I think it was the first show where you ever saw the entire band wearing jackets and caps. I think it's the first show where I've ever worn a cap. In fact, they're the caps you can buy at the merchandise table…I think they gave us a discount.

So to say the least, it was a very different show. But where I have to give credit where it's due is two places. First of all our road crew who had to set this up in the rain, and then also had to take it down at the end because it stormed all the way through.

And also the crowd. There was no roof anywhere for this crowd, and they stood out there two hours prior to us even being there and they stayed for the whole show, and I think they were one of the greatest crowds we ever played to. So, my hat's off to them – or my cap!

We're hoping that this doesn't continue for the whole tour. It seems like there could possibly be rain for tomorrow in Hanover -- there is a little bit today -- we'll have to see. We're just going to have to cross our fingers and see how it goes.
