A me piace un casino sto medley. Sto LAMB MEDLEY [:D][:D][:D](con finale di Watcher of the skies)

Squids e' colui che collabora con Tony (es: gli spiega come usare queste nuove diavolerie elettroniche, gli spiega come tirare fuori certi suoni...[;)]) e Simon Collins...beh, e' il figlio Phil.

che buontempone il nostro rael matrix! ovviamente sono i giraffe di kevin gilbert (prog fest 94) e nè squid nè simon c'entrano nulla. simon però ha appena registrato una cover di keep it dark che uscirà come singolo. non è proprio la stessa cosa, ma...

Grazie per la precisazione, Giam! In effetti la voce non mi sembrava quella di Simon, ma essendo un "live" non osavo giungere a conclusioni...

ovviamente non e' Simon che canta ma Kevin Gilbert delle Giraffe.
Pero', a leggere la risposta di Squids alla tua domanda di parlare di cosa ha fatto per Kevin e le Giraffe, mi pare di leggere che Squids ha editato i files di Kevin aggiungendo qualcosa.

So, here's that clip from The Lamb gig if anyone wants to hear it. It's not whole songs, just bits and pieces edited together mostly to show my playing because this is maybe the most complex gig I've ever done... also we only rehearsed it all the way through once. It was a challenge. It's different if you are in a full time tribute band. We weren't! We were doing Kevin's album Thud and then took a detour for just a few weeks to work on THIS! But, the secret is that we had years of listening and loving The Lamb... that's why to my amazement we were so tight especially at the end of the show when it slows down with the last part of Watcher of the Skies... everyone landed on the notes at the same time because we all understood the pretentious drama that IS Genesis back then... the reward of hearing the crowd roar after that big symphony-like Genesis HIT at the end was one of the best moments of my life. I finally got a taste of what it feels like to be on stage and hear a crowd of thousands respond all at once that strongly. I get chills every time I hear it. You don't get that kind of crowd response from just any music, especially music you hear these days. Genesis put on a show with emotion that riled people up. If you were a musician it made you dream of being on stage and having that kind of power to move the audience. So, even though we weren't playing our own music (which would be even better), we still allowed ourselves to experience it in a sort of fantasy-like way. I am, of course, in retrospect really glad that Kevin was able to have this experience in his life, especially since it was cut so short. I mentioned this at his funeral and Bill Botrell came up to me after to tell me he really was moved by what I said.

Per la cronaca (se già non fosse stato precisato in qualche post che mi è sfuggito) Squids altri non è che David Kerzner attuale dirigente della Sonic reality e IK Multimedia, che nel 94 suonò come tastierista con Kevin Gilbert (e Nick D'Virgilio alla batteria) nello show che ripropose praticamente per intero "The Lamb" e che attualmente si sta occupando - con i suoi collaboratori - del set up delle tastiere di Tony Banks per il tour Genesis 2007.
