Sulla falsariga dell'album meno amato, invece ora vi chiedo per ciascun album qual'è la canzone che amate di più. Non la più bella in senso assoluto. Quella a cui siete più affezionati o quella che in questo momento ascoltereste di quell'album. Per quanto mi riguarda quasi mai il pezzo più bello del disco è quello che amo di più.

semplicemente perchè ho sempre visto gli album dei genesis come blocchi unici.

sono affezonato agli album e non alle singole canzoni.

a me piace tutto quello che "suona" alla genesis quindi non ho una preferenza.

l'eccezione la faccio per quella frase:
"can you tell me where ..."

che ha cambiato il mio modo di percepire le cose [:)]

So che molti non la digeriscono. E' un brano indubbiamente originale e si stenta a credere che la stessa persona che ha composto una "Mad Man Moon" o una "One For The Vine" abbia composto anche un brano tipo "Who Dunnit?". L'ennesima dimostrazione della grande versatilità dei Nostri, e in modo particolare di Tony!!

Sì, ho visto ma il post è successivo al mio "stupore"; che rimane comunque lo stesso prendendo atto di quante poche persone l'abbiano inserita in proporzione dei vari elenchi. Questo è un dato curioso.

Cinema show con FOF, e in the cage, fa parte di una triade difficilmente non citabile. Le linee soliste di questi tre brani sono qualcosa di unico e mai superato. Eppure... Mah.[;^(][;^(][;^(]

probabilmente sono quelle che adesso mi ascolterei più volentieri, sicuramente i dischi dei Genesis vanno presi nella loro totalità, anche i meno riusciti (per me Genesis e IT)

Sì però Pino qua non si parla di canzoni più belle, ma solo delle canzoni che amiamo. Spesso si ci può affezionare a canzoni sempliciotte, anche fuori dai Genesis, perchè ci portano alla mente qualche ricordo piacevole o perchè ci entrano in testa e non escono più, o perchè la loro atmosfera è molto vicina alla sensibilità della nostra anima.

Non è una classifica, e non è una scelta della ragione ma del cuore [;)]

Scherzi a parte, non riesco a stilare una "classifica", proprio non ci riesco. Perchè come giustamente sostieni, a seconeda di cosa il cuore cerca, io ascolto.[:)]

Se li merita tutti 'sti voti.
Solo i beneamati potevano scrivere in poco più di cinque minuti una bellissima suite, perchè Can-utility è proprio questo: una splendida suite di cinque minuti.

Ragazzi, esecutivamente e tecnicamente parlando Who dunnit? è uno dei migliori pezzi dei Genesis, e non scherzo.
Il bello è che non si tratta di un vero e proprio "pezzo", ma di un frammento, un sorta di improvvisazione ben studiata e strutturata.
Nel suo genere è proprio il massimo... è una mini jam session... e poi quando Phil comincia a dire "I did ecc" e poi "We not" o qualcosa di simile è puro divertimento!!

Ehm ragazzi, piano, dai: la mia è opinione personale.

Quando dico "uno dei pezzi migliori" non ho detto che è un capolavoro dei Genesis... capolavori sono ben altri, certamente.
Secondo me Who dunnit? è un buon risultato di un'improvvisazione di un pop neonato in stile Genesis... tutto lì!

Per quanto mi riguarda (e per chi mi conosce bene, qui ) non nego un certo rifiuto verso l'album del' 83, comunque rispetto alla mia totale chiusura come il post del 2010 lasciava presagire, non nego che ci sia qualcosa che a me piace, come per es. le parti strumentali(molto belle) di "Home by the sea" e le strofe di "It's gonna get better", peccato però che i suoi ritornelli siano armonicamente assai più banali finendo con il compromettere l'esito finale della canzone, imho.

Lo ripeterò fino alla nausea: Mama è una canzone bellissima.
