Ecco un altro sondaggio.
Qual è secondo voi, per ogni componente dei Genesis, la canzone nella quale si esprime al meglio il suo talento? O comunque quella in cui la sua performance vi emoziona maggiormente.

le prime che mi sono venute fuori "a pelle", ma sono certo che mi stò perdendo per strada molta roba... [:-|]

non riesco a rispondere perchè a me piace quasi tutto, e trovo quel quasi tutto enormemente superiore alla media in valore assoluto.

onestamente trovo tony assolutamente incredibile in colony of slipperman.

mike troppo grande in watcher e can utility.

per phil più che una canzone è l'intero concerto dello shrine che fa capire che talento enorme possedeva.

steve ti inchioda nel solo di firth.

Philippo Drummer: The Cinema show per il disegno ritmico in 7/8 straordinariamente leggero e ricco di tecnica sopraffina e innovazione esaltata dalla fusione del tocco jazzistico evidente fuso sapientemente agli stilemi del puro prog.
Ma consentitemi di dire: non c'è UN SOLO BRANO dei Genesis, "prima" o "dopo" che sia, in cui Philippo, non esprima in modo roboante ed eclatante tutto l'immenso talento e la creatività stratosferica del suo drumming. Ogni brano lo caratterizza, lo esalta con strutture ritmiche solo apparentemente semplici ma che si incastrano straordinariamente con una pulizia unica nella stesura.
Brani semplci (??) come tonightx3, squonk, o complessi come Duke's travel, Down and out, sono sempre caratterizzati da quel tocco unico univoco di genialità. Per non parlare degli assoli: los endos in second out, o il dialogo tra quattro bacchette ed uno sgabello del WIR: S T R A O R D I N A R I O O O O!!! Drum machine o no, ogni groove ideato da Philippo, traccia indelebile la propria firma su ogni solco ehmm bit, volevo dire bit dei nostri cd. Degli altri perlo dopo.[;)]

Neanche Chester, nel concerto con Steve ha provato a farlo così.
