On December 24, 2008, BMG Japan will reissue several of the David Palmer orchestral rock tributes that were released in the 1980s and early 1990s. Among them are We Know What We Like: The Music of Genesis (catalog number: BVCM-34464) and Orchestral Maneuvers: Symphonic Music of Pink Floyd (catalog number: BVCM-34465) both of which featured Steve Hackett on guitar! Other Palmer symphonic rock tribute titles scheduled for release include his homage Jethro Tull and to Yes. All of these reissues will be limited edition SHM-CDs, which are audiophile issues that are compatible with traditional CD players. There are no SHM-CD reissues planned for these titles outside of Asia.

Also set for release in Japan on December 10th is the Genesis - Turn It On Again Gift Set (catalog number: TOCP-70664). this set is comprised of the Genesis double disc Turn It On Again: The Hits - Tour Edition from 2007 repackaged with a copy of the 2005 NTSC/Region 0 DVD of Video Show, a collection of the band's music videos. Aside from the slightly modified artwork, there is no previously unavailable material in this repackaging. Europe has also followed suit by releasing this gift set as a 2-CD+DVD (NTSC/Region 0) which was released October 27, 2008. It is reportedly a digipack fold-out picture sleeve package in a slipcase!

Genesis 1970-1975 Will Not Be Delayed; Nick Davis Live Chat Confirms Live Genesis Box Still Under Consideration

According to Rhino Records, the third and final Genesis CD + DVD box set, 1970-1975, spanning the studio albums from 1970's Trespass through 1974's The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway will come out as scheduled this Tuesday, November 11th (EMI has reportedly said that it will not be delayed from it's Monday, November 10th release in Europe either). This is good news since rumors of delays were floating around the Internet. The LP version of the 1970-1975 box set may allegedly be delayed a few weeks, but this will not impact the European SACD + DVD version of the box set or the U.S. CD + DVD version.

In a recent live chat on the official Genesis site with Genesis' Producer Nick Davis, he confirmed that a live box set(s) that would feature newly remixed stereo and surround versions of Genesis albums like Live, Seconds Out, Three Sides Live, The Way We Walk I & II, and Live Over Europe were still being looked into as a possibility. Davis reported that the pre-sales for 1970-1975 were as much as the prior two box sets put together (1976-1982 and 1983-1998) which all sounds very promising! Davis also confirmed that the band's plans to make soundboard recordings from older Genesis tours available to fans is going very slowly. More information on that when we get it!

I CD orchestrali in questione li avevo comprati a loro tempo. Non sono malvagi, come spesso capita per queste operazioni. [:)]
Tra l'altro, nel CD dedicato ai Genesis si ascolta il flauto di Ian Anderson su "I Know What I Like"!

Mi preoccupa che si parli già di rimasterizzare "Live over Europe"! [:-|]
