A malincuore devo rinunciare a Behind the lines (che comunque viene "sintetizzata" in Duke's End), Duchess, Guide Vocal (stupenda; se solo l'avessero sviluppata un p' di più...) e Please Don't Ask (qualcuno mi odierà per aver indicato questa canzone tra le preferite; il testo è un po' mieloso, lo so ma.... mi commuove sempre quando la ascolto).

comunque Duke è TROPPO un album da cui non tollererò esclusioni eccellenti (vedi Lady lies)...per cui, chiamatemi infame, ma io voterò un pò più in là... [:D][:D][:D]

Mi sono preso un pò di tempo per riascoltare bene il disco.
E' l'album che mi riconcilia coi Genesis, a partire dalla copertina,che trovo molto delicata e carina.
Dunque:
DUCHESS : già dal suo intro di tastiere e batteria elettronica si capisce che è un gran brano (checchè ne dica qualcuno del forum la drum machine mi entusiasma,in quanto appassionato di musica elettronica,e all'epoca era una novità).
DUKE'S END : perchè questo e non Duke's travel direte voi...
i Genesis hanno sempre dato il meglio di sè nelle lunghe suite e anche stavolta centrano il bersaglio,ma in soli due minuti di Duke's end i Nostri sono capaci da grandi artisti quali sono,di concentrare tutta l'essenza dell'album e la sua bellezza.Premiato.[^]

se c'è qualcosa che mi ha sempre fatto amare la Duchessa (pardon[I8)])
in modo particolare, oltre lo svolgimento del brano nella parte cantata, è quell'intro così speciale e sognante, non solo batteria eletronica, ma tastiere "alla grande" del caro TONY...
io non mi sono mai fatto troppi problemi con gli strumenti, drum-machine, [;)]cotillions e trik-e-trak[:D], mi importa solo l'effetto finale che mi procurano, e quell'intro è veramente magico.[8:-x]
